Description

Condition:

A very beautiful example of a French Pierret ‘Super Artiste’ Tenor saxophone. These are difficult to date but this is circa 1950.

Pierret started making saxes in 1906 and finished production around 1963. They have a Dolnet and Beuscher type feel to them but with a somewhat sweeter sound. There’s a certain amount of old (1930’s) Selmer vibe to theses saxes and they produce a beautifully warm gentle sound. That’s not to say it doesn’t have projection – it does! It doesn’t roar, but it can certainly fill a room with no problem at all.

These are a great option if you’re looking for a vintage sax on a budget, or if you’re a collector looking to add something really interesting to your collection.

This sax is in great condition, serviced recently and playing on older pads, it’s ready to go!
